Relief for heavy vehicle road users will end despite fuel prices continuing to put pressure on motorists. Finance Minister Katy Gallagher confirmed that the Heavy Vehicle Road User Charge (RUC) discount would come to an end on Monday. Appearing on ABC Radio National, Ms Gallagher was questioned whether the discount would end alongside the fuel excise on August 3. The government also deferred the next scheduled increase of the Heavy RUC by six months when fuel prices began to spike.
