Nigel Moss, 58, of Thompson Street East, Darlington, was charged after a woman was injured on August 4, 2025, while Moss was driving a goods vehicle on Blakey Ridge, Farndale Moor. Moss admitted causing serious injury by careless driving, cocaine driving and driving with a cocaine derivative in his body at North Yorkshire Magistrates’ Court . He received a 23-week prison sentence, suspended for 12 months, after magistrates said the offence was so serious only custody could be justified, citing the level of injury and driving while over the drug limit. Moss must complete 120 hours of unpaid work and has been disqualified from driving for 18 months.
