Andrew Loxton, who works for Northern at Bridlington’s Grade II-listed station, has spent the past decade creating colourful floral displays. The 60-year-old took over the gardening duties from a volunteer after they died, despite having no previous gardening experience. His displays have earned praise and a Gold Award in last year’s Yorkshire in Bloom awards. His efforts have expanded to include fruit and vegetable plants, and he is currently experimenting with avocados, olives and lemons. Rachel Osborne, community rail officer at Yorkshire Coast Community Rail Partnership, said: "We are so proud of Andrew and all the work that he does for Bridlington station."
