Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Member of National Assembly (MNA) Nabil Gabol has come under criticism after a video showing him riding a motorcycle without wearing a helmet on a busy Karachi road went viral on social media. The clip shows Gabol riding through what has been described as Lyari, navigating traffic alongside rickshaws, motorcycles, and pedestrians. Pakistan’s traffic laws require both motorcycle riders and passengers to wear helmets, with violations punishable through fines, including e-challans in cities where the system is operational. Authorities have regularly urged motorcyclists to wear helmets to reduce fatalities and serious injuries in road accidents. As of now, neither Nabil Gabol nor the relevant traffic authorities have publicly commented on the viral video or whether any enforcement action has been taken.
