Artist Sara Hayes, director of the Public Art Company and the creator of Jetty, said the design was inspired by community workshops and her experiences of Northey Island over the past two years. She said: “Integrating with the landscape, visitors walking across Northey Island will discover the Jetty, sitting in the landscape looking as if it has been there for fifty years. National Trust coastal projects manager Katy Gilchrist said visitors immediately embraced the artwork.
