Residents grill Dominion Energy over Fairfax County data center proposal
['Jackie Bensen']
News – NBC4 Washington
A major data center proposal for a Dominion Energy substation and plans for two data centers in Fairfax County has drawn mounting concern from community leaders and nearby homeowners.
Starwood Capital Group's project could bring two data centers close to established neighborhoods while the development may be allowed under existing Fairfax County zoning.
The site in the Lincolnia area of Fairfax County sits less than 100 feet from nearby homes.
The residents who attended the session with the Mason District Land Committee made their views clear to Dominion Energy representatives.
The Dominion Energy substation has already been approved by the state, but it must still go before the Fairfax County Planning Commission.
