Nutley Little League’s Rich Jasnowitz wasn’t surprised to see the emotion on the faces of the 13-year-olds in front of him after the Nutley 50/70 Intermediate All-Star team saw its season come to an end. For Nutley, the East Regional represented a disappointing end to an otherwise stellar season. In Thursday’s regional opener against Brandywine Little League from Delaware, Nutley was undone by four unearned runs in a 4-3 loss. Despite the rough finish, Nutley more than played up to the potential Jasnowitz saw a year ago, when these same kids were split between the Nutley American and Nutley East Little Leagues. “This is not the last time people are going to hear from this group because the future’s bright,” said Jasnowitz.
