Named on the night as the Special Recognition for Mentoring award winner following closed judging was Oras Al -Ani. This year, Oras has supported large cohorts of West Cumbrian learners through a highly demanding and intensive programme of academic intervention. Oras brings an unmistakable passion for teaching that is evident in every session she delivers. Oras also brings exceptional academic depth to her role, having previously worked at associate professor level and holding a PhD. Her background allows her to stretch learners intellectually while still grounding learning in real-world application relevant to industry in Cumbria.
