COXSACKIE, N.Y. (WNYT)- Rising water cut off parts of Coxsackie and rescue crews helped a woman, her granddaughter as well as two pets from a home surrounded by flooding on Wednesday, July 29. The Greene County Swift Water Rescue team and Coxsackie firefighters used an inflatable rescue sled to reach the family. That rescue was one example of flooding across Coxsackie, where roads, homes and businesses were surrounded by water. A nearby creek has spread into yards, with a neighbor saying the creek was usually about 10 feet lower. The village mayor said there were currently no real entrances into Coxsackie.
