Giant Food is closing its Overlea store next week. “We want to express our sincere gratitude to the Baltimore community for their support over the 50 years Giant Food has been part of this neighborhood, and we look forward to welcoming our shoppers to our other local Giant Food locations,” a company statement said. Giant said the store’s pharmacy customers will be notified that their prescriptions are being transferred to the Giant Food pharmacy location nearest to their home address. Customers can also choose to have their prescriptions transferred to a Giant pharmacy of their choice. The store’s employees are being offered transfers to other Giant locations.
