The next solar eclipse visible from the UK will be a partial solar eclipse on Wednesday, August 12, and residents across Somerset should be able to enjoy at least part of this remarkable event. The last solar eclipse was just nine days after my youngest son was born in 1999, and it was a total eclipse in the far west of Taunton. Unlike a total solar eclipse, the Sun will not be completely covered in Somerset. However, it is vital to remember that watching a solar eclipse safely is extremely important. A solar eclipse offers a rare reminder that we are part of something much bigger.
