For many of the women taking part, the event is also about challenging those statistics and encouraging confidence in giving CPR to women in need. Tania Eveleigh, events manager at Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance, said: "DARE to BARE is about far more than a swim. In addition to the swim, participants will receive lifesaving CPR and defibrillator training using the air ambulance charity’s female CPR manikins. "Alongside this, we are raising funds for Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance. The event will help raise funds for the air ambulance, whose critical care team is tasked to around 3,000 incidents every year.
