‘Jump In’ is vintage Darling Buds with a chorus to rival old favourites like ‘Burst’ and ‘Hit The Ground’, a comparison that could also be made with ‘Cut Me Dead’ , which wouldn’t sound out of place on that 1988 debut. The best track is saved for last though, with the yearning ‘Polyanna Says’ featuring the line “If we can get through this, we can get through anything”. It’s great to have The Darling Buds back on a strong, filler-free set that takes from the best of their past while hopefully looking forward too. Same Sun | Same Sky is released by Cherry Red on 31st July 2026. The Darling Buds appear at Blackpool’s Rebellion Festival on 9th August before playing some of their own UK dates from August 28th.
