The Land and Urban Construction Bureau (DSSCU) announced that it had opened 433 cases involving unauthorized construction work in the first half (1H) of this year.
Additionally, there were another 533 cases in which owners voluntarily removed unauthorized structures following notifications from the bureau.
DSSCU noted that these figures had generally doubled compared with the same period last year, with voluntary demolitions more than doubling the full-year figure from 2025 (241).
In addition, fines were imposed in 59 unauthorized construction cases during the first six months of this year, totaling approximately MOP2.87 million patacas.
In nine other cases, fines were not paid by the deadline, and DSSCU will begin follow-up procedures for compulsory collection.
