It follows a Freedom of Information request that revealed almost 5,000 speeding offences have been recorded since the cameras became operational. She has challenged council leader Jeff Brooks’ claim that early data showed a significant reduction in red-light offences and vehicle speeds since the cameras were installed. Data obtained by the MP from Thames Valley Police shows that since the cameras became operational in January 2026, there have been 31 red-light offences and 4,965 speeding offences recorded at the crossing. Ms Bailey said: “Road safety around Calcot Schools is a priority for local families. “The figures I’ve obtained reflect what many residents have been telling me; too many drivers are still speeding through this crossing, and red-light offences are continuing.
