A Hopkinsville man has pled guilty to an amended assault charge stemming from a July 2025 shooting that seriously injured a juvenile. 21-year-old Culliyon McKnight entered a guilty plea Wednesday in Christian County Circuit Court before Judge John Atkins. McKnight pleaded guilty to the amended charge of assault under extreme emotional disturbance. However, prosecutors also recommended McKnight be placed in a three-year felony pretrial diversion program because he has no prior criminal history. Under Wednesday’s plea agreement, that charge was amended to assault under extreme emotional disturbance.
