A Hopkinsville man pled guilty Wednesday in Christian County Circuit Court to multiple charges stemming from a high-speed police pursuit last year that ended with a crash that seriously injured another driver. Under the plea agreement, Gibson will receive an eight-year prison sentence, with all sentences running concurrently. Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney Dan Cortese opposed Gibson’s release because of the seriousness of the offenses and the mandatory prison sentence, but said he would not object to a one-day furlough. Judge Self denied Gibson’s request for release pending sentencing but approved a one-day furlough so Gibson could visit his grandmother in Hopkinsville before returning to jail later that day. The charges stem from a July 2025 pursuit that began after Kentucky State Police attempted to stop Gibson’s vehicle on Fort Campbell Boulevard in Oak Grove for allegedly traveling more than 100 miles per hour.
