The BBC Gardeners’ World presenter shared a photo on Instagram of a sparrowhawk that had flown into the hall of his house through an open front door. Mr Don said: "Special visitor flew in through the open front door into the hall this evening #sparrowhawk." He spotted the bird at his house; his nearby garden, Longmeadow, is well-known as the backdrop for BBC Gardeners’ World. While not considered rare in the everyday sense, they are on the conservation Amber List in the UK. However, numbers recovered after harmful chemicals were banned, though they have declined again in recent years, earning them a place on the Amber List.
