Wairoa Police working alongside the Eastern District Gang Disruption Unit and supported by tactical officers and specialist Police staff have conducted a coordinated operation targeting unlawful activity across the Wairoa area, resulting in six arrests. Senior Sergeant Nathan Snell said eight search warrants were executed over the last three days with specialist Police staff, with a range of offences being uncovered. “The operation focused on the impacts of drug supply into the area, and we’re pleased to have bought charges against a number of individuals involved in bringing drugs into our community. Four men and two women aged between 19 and 44 have been charged with a raft of drug dealing, firearms and dishonesty offences and will appear in Gisborne and Wairoa courts in due course. Police encourage anyone seeking help for drug-related issues to reach out to health providers, support services, or community organisations.
