Above its stage, a Shakespearian mantra is engraved: “Bid me discourse, I will enchant thine ear”. It feels apt that the cover of the haunting new collaborative album from 2K88, Lauren Duffus, Rainy Miller and Bianca Scout bears a photo of this fabled Blackpool ballroom, as the new record oozes with appropriate grandeur. Sandwiched between these four tracks is ‘Salto’, a de facto underground club banger with Duffus and Scout’s vocals gliding amongst plucky, brain-tickling synths, trap percussion and wailing guitars. Miller’s closing vision reasserts the timelessness of human nature, even when glamour is on the turn.
