Clark County School District police are urging parents to review e-bike and e-scooter safety with their children before the 2026-2027 school year begins, following a sharp jump in student crashes involving the devices.
District police logged 432 crashes involving students during the 2025-26 school year, up from 120 the year before — an increase of nearly 300%.
Roughly half of those crashes involved e-bikes specifically.
"This past school year, we had an influx in children and students to and from school," Campbell said.
Lt. Michael Campbell said the spike has made student safety around e-devices one of the department's top priorities for the coming year, and he said meaningful prevention starts at home.
