The National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) has said it will not use social media clips as evidence when it investigates hate speech and incitement cases.
The commission said it will only act after it receives a formal complaint in line with legal requirements.
He added that acting without a formal complaint would place the commission in an awkward position, particularly because the clip submitted could be AI-generated.
NCIC Names 10 Leaders Under ProbeThe Commission said some of the complaints formally lodged have placed 10 prominent Kenyans under its scrutiny.
NCIC appealed to political leaders to avoid mobilizing and deploying goons during political engagements and instead maintain political modesty as the country moves into a more intense campaign period ahead of the 2027 General Election.
