Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna said he is open to collaborating with former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, despite voting to impeach him. Sifuna argued that the opposition’s shared objective of removing President William Ruto from office takes precedence over earlier political differences. We will work with anyone who believes that Ruto does not deserve an extra day in office, and, for as long as that’s our cause, we will work together,” Sifuna stated. Sifuna added that Gachagua carries a distinct responsibility in the push to remove President Ruto, citing the role he played in helping him rise to power. The lawmaker also dismissed allegations that he received a bribe to back Gachagua’s impeachment, saying he acted without any inducement.
