The Gordon Gallery, located at 101 N. Main St., will celebrate its grand opening on Friday, July 31, with an evening reception featuring the work of acclaimed photographer and author Erin Austen Abbott. The opening reception is scheduled from 5:30 to 9 p.m. and will officially introduce the gallery as one of Water Valley’s newest arts destinations. Abbott’s inaugural exhibition will showcase her photography and remain on display throughout the day on Saturday, Aug. 1, giving visitors another opportunity to view the collection during the opening weekend. Owned by local artist Bradley S. Gordon, The Gordon Gallery is designed to be more than a traditional exhibition space. Along with Gordon’s work on permanent display, the gallery will feature rotating exhibitions by guest artists throughout the year.
