Cofield’s Corner is supposed to be for Oxford. As William Faulkner’s fame grew and grew, so did Granddad’s admiration for his friend, our Nobel Laureate. As usual, Faulkner posted himself, and Granddad knew the first shot was “it.” Granddad’s personal copy hangs in my living room, and the second one hangs above the fireplace at Rowan Oak. Granddad drove it out there, and Mr. Faulkner hung it himself.
