A Mississippi woman faces felony charges in Alabama after allegedly stealing over $18,000 from an elderly victim.
Shelia Williams, 70, of Golden, Mississippi, was arrested by the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office following a June 29 investigation into $18,206 missing from a resident’s bank account.
When interviewed by deputies, Williams admitted to taking the checks, forging the victim’s signature, and using the funds for personal expenses.
The victim’s financial institution fully reimbursed the stolen $18,206.
