Tempo Men’s Shed received the donation from Power NI through its Brighter Communities programme, and will use the funding to develop its garden and outdoor learning space. The garden brings together older people, young people and community groups to learn about composting, planting, soil health and sustainable horticulture. A spokesperson for Tempo Men’s Shed said: “This support from Power NI will allow us to further develop our garden and outdoor learning space while creating more opportunities for people to come together, learn new skills and enjoy the benefits of gardening. “And as well as improving the environment, these activities play an important role in supporting mental health, wellbeing and social connection.” Ashleigh O’Neill, senior marketing and communications executive at Power NI, said: “Tempo Men’s Shed is creating greener spaces, reducing social isolation and giving people of all ages the chance to learn from one another.”
