Former Zimbabwe Coach Wiesław Grabowski Dies In Poland After Leaving Lasting Legacy In Local FootballFormer Zimbabwe national team coach Wiesław Grabowski has died in Poland, bringing to an end the life of a coach widely remembered for helping develop some of Zimbabwe’s biggest football talents.
His death was announced on 29 July 2026 by veteran football journalist Steve Vickers, who highlighted the Polish mentor’s contribution to Zimbabwean football.

Wiesław Grabowski Remembered For Developing Zimbabwe’s Football StarsGrabowski spent decades working in Zimbabwean football after arriving in the country in 1985 as part of a government exchange programme.
Former Warriors Coach Had Brief Spell With Senior National TeamGrabowski was appointed Zimbabwe senior national team coach in 2002 after previously serving as an assistant coach with Poland during the 1978 FIFA World Cup.
