Local News, News July 29th, 2026A pedestrian was taken to hospital on Wednesday night after being struck by a Metrobus. The incident happened on Elizabeth Avenue, near Elizabeth Towers, at about 9:45 p.m.. Witness reports from the scene indicate the male pedestrian left the sidewalk in front of an eastbound Metrobus and was struck. He was taken to hospital with injuries not believed to be life-threatening. Elizabeth Avenue was closed east of Portugal Cove Road as the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary documented the scene.
