The charges relate to alleged offences committed in 2021 and include abuse of trust, subsidy fraud, attempted computer fraud and false attestation. The EPPO said investigations uncovered alleged unlawful interference in inspections, manipulation of official records and false certifications linked to EU farm payments. Allegations against seven serving MPs and two former MPs were dropped due to insufficient evidence. The EPPO said further investigations covering other years remain ongoing. All those charged are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in the Greek courts.
