Transport bosses Strathclyde Partnership for Transport(SPT) have upgraded the 578A service to include a new timetable. The revised timetable will provide extended coverage within upper Skelmorlie and Inverkip and extended operating hours, offering additional journey opportunities. "Officers have worked really hard to develop a service as a result of the public meetings in Skelmorlie and Inverkip that will attract more patronage. The improvements follow public consultation organised by SPT in Inverkip and Skelmorlie, during which residents and stakeholders were invited to share their experiences and suggestions.
