Cape Fear Habitat to host 9/11 Day of Service honoring veterans, first respondersHabitat for Humanity, Graphic Date: 08/21/2018, (Photo: Habitat for Humanity, MGN)WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Cape Fear Habitat for Humanity is inviting the community to honor the sacrifices of military members and first responders by participating in its annual 9/11 Day of Service and Remembrance this September. “This event is a great way for local veterans and first responders to spend time reflecting on their service and the service of others,” said Rich Duncan, Cape Fear Habitat’s director of development. “September 11th is a time of remembrance, and at Cape Fear Habitat, we respect the sacrifices of the men and women who fight for and serve our country.” Cape Fear Habitat is also seeking event sponsors, with proceeds supporting the nonprofit’s Veterans Build program, which provides affordable home repairs for local veterans.
