Plans for former Oxfordshire printworks to be demolished for car-free flats

The block will be developed on a 'long-awaited' area next to Banbury railway station and will include 17 flats alongside ground-floor commercial units.
If approved, the development will trigger the redevelopment of the 'Canalside Quarter', a 60-acre site next to the railway station.
The builder plans to demolish a vacant and 'derelict' building, the former Percy Gilkes print works near Banbury Train Station.
The site, thanks to its proximity to Banbury railway station, promises a car-free community designed to promote more sustainable modes of travel among residents.
The planned development will create improved pedestrian connectivity between the railway station, the river, canal, and wider town centre.
