After Network Rail confirmed the revised date for reopening the road to traffic would be September 20, not August 31, Mr Howson demanded clarity from Network Rail bosses on what will happen next. Mr Howson said: "Network Rail must announce a firm timetable for what was, the real railway aim - the western entrance and Platform 5. "He has failed both as former chairman of Network Rail and as unelected minister. "It is still my intention to press for this meeting, and I will be in close contact with Network Rail in the coming weeks to ensure that this delay is the final one." Network Rail and the Department for Transport has been asked to comment.
