The Department for Culture, Media and Sport has revealed that Totton is not among the 15 towns still in the running to win the title. It comes after Hanger Farm at Aikman Lane, Totton, was named Best Arts, Culture & Theatre in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight for the second year running. "This award means so much to everyone here at Hanger Farm and we're incredibly grateful for the continued support from our wonderful community." Hanger Farm stages live music, family shows and community events, plus comedy, theatre and cinema. The winner of UK Town of Culture will receive £3m to help it stage a year of cultural activities.
