Hyderabad: The sleuths of Telangana Drugs Control Administration (DCA) raided a wholesale medical shop in Nalgonda and seized abortion kits that were illegally stocked for sale without valid purchase bills. Following credible information, the DCA officials raided raid on Sri Laxmi Medical Agencies at Prakasham Bazaar in, Nalgonda. The firm is operated by its proprietor P. Sudhakar and detected t illegal stocking of 113 abortion kits, namely “Safe-T Kit” (MTP Kit/Abortifacient Drugs). The medical termination of pregnancy kit (MTP Kit) is a combination of medicines containing Mifepristone and Misoprostol, used for the medical termination of early pregnancy under prescribed conditions and strict medical supervision. Illegal purchase and sale of MTP kits by medical shops is punishable under the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, with imprisonment for up to two years.
