PALMOILMAGAZINE, JAKARTA – Indonesia’s Ministry of Agriculture is strengthening the country’s plantation sector through a broad partnership involving government agencies, research institutions, academia, and state-owned enterprises. The collaboration was formalized with the signing of a Cooperation Agreement (PKS) on the development of sustainable research and technology for priority plantation crops in South Lampung, aimed at boosting productivity while accelerating downstream processing. The initiative seeks to integrate scientific research, technological innovation, and practical implementation to support the development of high-value plantation areas in South Lampung. He noted that cross-sector partnerships are essential for accelerating the transformation of Indonesia’s plantation industry toward a more modern, efficient, and sustainable production system. The initiative also forms part of the government’s broader strategy to strengthen Indonesia’s plantation innovation ecosystem by promoting more practical applications of research.
