Spread the wordThe Lagos state government has launched the maiden Lagos Digital Health Innovation while reaffirming its commitment to transforming healthcare delivery through innovative digital solutions. He commended participants for presenting innovative applications with the potential to strengthen healthcare delivery in Lagos. The commissioner noted that digital technology had already transformed healthcare delivery in the state, citing Lagos’ successful home-based management of COVID-19 patients during the pandemic as evidence of how innovation can extend healthcare services beyond hospital settings. He stated that the Lagos State Smart Health Information Platform (SHIP), the state’s flagship digital health initiative, has reached about 30 per cent completion in its first phase across public health facilities and will subsequently be extended to the private healthcare sector. Abayomi added that SHIP would synchronise patients’ health records, improve healthcare planning, strengthen the use of artificial intelligence and predictive healthcare, while ensuring robust cyber security and data protection..
