SA-Players-AbroadSouth African star Aden McCarthy has taken yet another step closer to qualifying for the 2026/27 UEFA Champions League. Having only joined Sabah FC from Kaizer Chiefs in July, McCarthy has enjoyed a bright start to life in Europe. After beating TNS 4-1 on aggregate, Sabah took on Finnish giants KuPS and claimed a 1-0 victory in the first leg. The second leg took place on Tuesday, with Sabah advancing to the third qualifying round after a 2-0 win secured a 3-0 aggregate victory over KuPS. In the third round, McCarthy's side will face either Denmark's AGF Aarhus or Poland's Lech Poznań.
