A multi-agency effort led to a trapped utility worker being rescued from a trench. The Oxford Fire Department reports that first responders were dispatched to Anderson Road after receiving word that a man had been pinned by dirt in a trench. Upon arrival, first responders found an unidentified utility worker who was partially buried and had no means of escape without assistance. “The Oxford Fire Department would like to thank Oxford MS Police Department, Hospital Wing 7 – Oxford, MS, and Priority Ambulance of Oxford for their assistance during this incident,” an official statement from OFD reads. Officials have not reported how the utility worker was trapped in the first place.
