The Manitoba government is implementing several safety measures at Sturgeon Falls Trail in Whiteshell Provincial Park following the tragic drownings of two children earlier this month. “I have reviewed the safety assessment conducted by department experts and we are taking immediate action to ensure the safety of future park visitors at Sturgeon Falls.” The Manitoba government shared planned safety upgrades with key local stakeholders in the Whiteshell area today. “These safety measures will help ensure no other family has to suffer a tragic loss,” said Moyes. “We’re also reviewing whether additional safety measures are required in other locations in provincial parks to ensure Manitobans can safely enjoy our parks and outdoor spaces.”
