The incident has been reported on the A127 near Progress Road, Southend-bound, and traffic is building back to Rayleigh. Essex Highways says the incident involves multiple vehicles. This comes on top of existing congestion on the A127, with delays and queuing traffic in both directions at Rayleigh Weir and on approaches to the roundabout. There are also severe delays after West Mayne at the Dunton Junction, in the construction area, where lane closures are in place.
