In an update to patients, Rowcroft Medical Centre in Stroud explained that all requests are clinically assessed to determine urgency and who should deal with the issue. The medical centre shared the update in a public message to explain its approach to appointment booking and clinical prioritisation. Delays in seeing non-urgent cases can help preserve urgent appointments and avoid even longer waits overall. Across Gloucestershire in April, 44.6 per cent of patients were seen on the same day they contacted their practice. A total of 71 per cent were seen within two weeks, while around six per cent had appointments booked four weeks or more ahead.
