The American Vape Shop ion Market Street was issued with a closure order on July 22, after repeated violations involving the sale of illegal vapes, illicit cigarettes, and tobacco. Lancashire Trading Standards carried out five separate inspections, seizing 864 packs of cigarettes and tobacco, as well as 187 illegal vapes. Trading standards officers also found evidence of sales being made to underage customers. Preston Magistrates’ Court granted the closure order on July 22, 2026, and officers enforced it the following day.
