According to Marubu, the proposed CBD is expected to position Lamu to accommodate the anticipated growth in commercial activity and investment linked to the refinery.
Magical Kenya“I recently wrote to Government proposing that the 715-acre Lamu GK Prison land in Hindi be planned as the future Lamu Port City (CBD).
This is an opportunity to prepare Lamu for the upcoming Dangote Refinery and other LAPSSET investments,” she wrote in a statement obtained by this publication on Wednesday.
She said a planned CBD would provide the commercial, residential, financial and government infrastructure required to complement the port’s expansion.
