FARGO – The Jamestown Eagles saver their best pitcher until they really needed him, and Jaxon Kolpin came through. Kolpin pitched a two-hit shutout Wednesday as the Eagles stayed in the AA American Legion state tournament with a 6-0 win over Williston in an elimination game at Jack Williams Stadium. The Eagles scored three runs in the first inning on a Brenner Weber RBI double and a two-run single by Kale Verke. Nickoloff had shut out the Eagles on two hits on July 16 in Jamestown. On Thursday, the Eagles will play another elimination game against either Grand Forks or Fargo Post 400.
