A Kentucky State Penitentiary employee has been accused of having sexual relations with an inmate. The Kentucky Department of Corrections conducted an internal investigation which led officials to contact Kentucky State Police after the investigation showed that an “employee (was) having a sexual relationship with an inmate.” The KSP investigation resulted in the employee, 23-year-old Raven West, of Paducah, who was a Corrections Recreation Leader, being charged with two counts third-degree rape, third-degree sodomy and first-degree official misconduct. West has since resigned from her position with the prison. The Kentucky Department of Corrections released the following statement on the incident:
