Hargreaves Land has awarded a major infrastructure contract to a Scottish civil engineering and construction group, paving the way for the next phase of development. Twelve months ago, members of East Lothian Council’s planning committee unanimously gave the green light for plans on a five-hectare plot of land at the heart of the site. Residents who have spoken to the Courier have told of their frustration at not having shops on their doorstep. Scott Waite, project director at Hargreaves Land, said: “I & H Brown’s expertise has been instrumental in driving Blindwells forward. Work on the new infrastructure project began on site earlier this month (July) and is scheduled for completion in March next year.
