The former Nether Abbey Hotel, on Dirleton Avenue, will reopen as The Bass & Barrel on October 20 following the completion of a seven-figure transformation by Scottish hospitality operator and owner Buzzworks. The venue, which has been closed during the redevelopment, will feature a new pub, restaurant and 12-bedroom accommodation, becoming part of Buzzworks’ House Collection. Kenny Blair, Buzzworks CEO, said that the redevelopment would provide a new destination for both residents and visitors. He said: “Announcing the name The Bass & Barrel marks a major milestone in the transformation of this much-loved North Berwick venue and bring us one step closer to welcoming guests through the doors in October. Overnight bookings for The Bass & Barrel are now open ahead of its official reopening in October.
