Completing the equivalent of more than 120 marathons in just over 100 days as Scotland travelled Stateside to compete in the World Cup, his extraordinary challenge inspired thousands along the way. Now he’s returning home to help launch one of Renfrewshire’s biggest annual sporting events, with organisers OneRen encouraging people not to miss out on this year’s Paisley 10k and Fun Run. The Paisley 10k, of which entries close on July 31 at 11:59pm has become one of Scotland’s favourite road races, while the Fun Run welcomes participants of all ages and abilities. Achara added: “The Fun Run is all about getting active and having fun, whether you’re walking, jogging or running. There’s always an incredible atmosphere in Paisley on race day and I’m looking forward to helping send everyone on their way.
